Lone and Remote Workers (Personal security)

Employers must have in place the procedures to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all staff whilst at work. Many organisations have employees who work remotely or alone as part of their day to day job. Lone workers may be required to be left alone with or receive visiting customers, members of the public or patients. Lone workers are more vulnerable and at greater risk of violence and aggression. This means that suitable risk assessments must be carried out and control measures implemented and reviewed. This course will introduce the user to the concept of personal safety, observation, behaviour and identifying potentially threatening situations.
